Sharing Voices (Bradford) is an award winning community development mental health organisation. We work with people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities living with mental distress to enable recovery and facilitate the development of appropriate and responsive mental health services.
Sharing Voices is currently working on a project collaboratively with Bradford University. The primary aim of the project is to increase the amount of south Asian women undertaking breast cancer screening.
You will be working at Sharing Voices Bradford offices based in Manningham, Bradford and will lead community engagement and delivery of an intervention that motivates South Asian Muslim men to encourage women to undertake cancer screening. The intervention will be delivered, in diverse community-based settings where men gather including Mosques, Madrassas, community groups, Colleges and the University
We seek an enthusiastic individual with experience of undertaking community engagement work in the Bradford communities.
The principle role will be to take a lead on community engagement and delivery of an intervention that motivates South Asian men to encourage women to undertake cancer screening. The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate the delivery of intervention in diverse community based settings where men gather including Mosques, Madrassas, community groups, colleges and universities.
The post is a fixed term contract and will be reviewed on a consistent basis and may be subject to termination due to funding situation and or reviews around performance.
